Vine House MODESTO seeks to empower Each individual on a holistic level (The whole person) - physical, spiritual, social and emotional, to help overcome life’s bondage’s and pain. only the holy spirit can do this and we come alongside.

Our ministry is outreach to drug addicts, prostitutes, alcoholics, homeless and the marginalized of our community.

We are working with people who have new and lifelong addictions and bondage. It is rewarding to watch God transform broken lives into amazing vessels on fire for Him and see what their testimony does to spur on others to seek the same.

Vine House opened in October 1999 offering a simple coffee house time in a home on the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Vine Street in Modesto, CA. Through additional drop-in programs and offerings, we have seen many individuals choose well, living a life of sustainability, free from addiction. We serve an average of 350-450 individuals per month.

In 2017 we became a 501(c)3 known as Vine House Modesto. Through community generosity, have recently purchased the home that has become a lighthouse in the West side neighborhood for 22 years.

Vine House is open to the public 6 days a week with these services on certain days (see calendar)

  • A Coffee House for the hungry in need of food and community

  • Mail distribution for those needing a permanent address (approx 150 people)

  • Bible Studies

  • Men’s and Women’s Discipleship

  • Support Groups

  • Shower and Laundry Shuttle services in partnership with showershuttle.org

  • We also offer opportunity and training to volunteers and participate in events in and around the community

our method

The method we use is called *Community Health Evangelism (CHE). The focus is on the individual; getting to know each one personally which opens their heart so we can begin to share the hope and grace of God.

This approach deals with the whole person - spiritual, physical, social and emotional. We walk beside and help guide them through the appropriate steps needed to make positive changes in their life, one step at a time, clinging to the Vine! (John 15:5)

Our goal has been to raise up local people from the West side area who will become part of the team in their own community. We identify individuals who show a sincere desire to follow Jesus with integrity and character.

Vine House is thriving while working alongside individuals, local churches, para-church organizations like the Gospel Mission, and Salvation Army Homeless Shelter, county agencies, as well as businesses, police, fire departments and local merchants.

Our goal is not to duplicate what already exists in our community, rather to work together to “restore the streets in which to dwell.” Isaiah 58:12
